    Your Job:

    • Coupling of a soil-plant physiological model with a radiative transfer model
    • Sensitivity analysis of the soil and plant functional parameters on predicted radiance spectra
    • UAV-based within-field observing system simulation experiment for soil and plant water and thermal status, and plant geometry (joint experiment with PhD ‘field-scale crop and soil N modelling’)
    • Inverse modeling and UAV data integration
    • Operational workflow development to estimate the crop status (biomass, growing stages, stress conditions, nitrogen status) by UAV measurements
    • Contribute to an international research team, publish in international journals and present results at international conferences

    Your Profile:

    • University degree in either remote sensing, geosciences, computer science, physics, civil engineering or applied mathematics
    • Knowledge in the areas of remote sensing, hydrology, soil sciences
    • Demonstrated programming skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international, interdisciplinary team across institutes; very good communication and organizational skills
    • Very good command of the English language
    • Willingness to perform field work
