Intro And Job Overview

Precisely’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, part-time opportunity for undergraduate students actively enrolled in university. This is an 8-week program that begins June 10th and concludes August 2nd. This opportunity is 100% remote located in the India timezone. The UX/ UI Design Intern will work closely with the Business Development team.

The Intern will be a key member of the design system team. We are a design-driven, agile organization looking for a person capable of creating, collaborating on, and communicating designs with stakeholders and developers to implement and execute on a product's vision. You will be a user advocate, taking ideas from concept to prototype. The expectation is that your designs will employ a task-based design ethos with a functional focus on aesthetics. You should have a design portfolio, which may consist mostly of student work at this point, which is to be expected, but a UX specialist should always have a portfolio of sample work.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • An ability to design and build components.
  • An ability to design and build application mockups.
  • An ability to design and build prototypes.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Show strong communication, collaboration & design skills.
  • You should be able to take direction from other team members and produce effective software solutions with that direction.
  • You need to have experience with Figma or similar design and rapid prototyping tools. It is not expected for you to be an expert in these tools yet, but you should have a base understanding of how to use them.
  • Passionate about developing simple, clean, elegant user experiences.
  • Eagerness to collaborate with product owners and developers to understand the problem domain and design solutions that meet user needs.
  • Champion of user-centered design and user-research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of standard UI/UX design tools: Figma, Sketch, Invision, Principle, and ability to push some pixels as well as work with vectors.
  • Experience creating vector and raster art.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating the candidate's interaction design process and thinking.
  • Knowledge of modern web browser limitations.
  • Has an interest in understanding data center management and cloud technologies, as well as network and system administration tools.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus.
