Position Summary

NextNav is running a groundbreaking location service for smartphones, IOT, and other devices – an ability to determine floor level altitude service across the country – a capability that does not exist at scale anywhere today! the highest precision Z-Axis solution proven in the marketplace today and a person joining this team will have the ability to define the space.


 Design and document mechanical assemblies, parts, cable assemblies or other fabricated parts as required to support new products or prototypes.

 Work with Product design to transition products from Engineering to manufacturing.

 Review and update engineering documentation for new product release.

 Provide daily direction and support to manufacturing to support product assembly.

 Maintain control of component and tooling implementation for production, including but not limited to equipment validation, component drawings and product bill of material.

 Provide expertise in specification, procurement, build, documentation, validation, and personnel training for manufacturing electromechanical products.

 Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Other responsibilities will include implementing new methodologies, materials, processes, or products.

 Interface with the production personnel to actively troubleshoot production problems as well as continually improve the process.

 Review product field returns with engineering to determine root cause defects and provide corrective actions as required.

Desired Skills & Experience


 BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

 At least 5 years of engineering experience in the manufacturing for electromechanical products

 Experience with design and document controls.

 SolidWorks experience

 Strong written and oral communication skills

 Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word

 Mechanical aptitude/trouble shooting.

 Experience with ARENA or other PLM systems
