Intro And Job Overview

As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of the team that develops and maintains cloud databases like Redshift, Aurora and RDS in the Geospatial domain (GIS). You will be involved in the development and unit testing the database applications. You will collaborate with architects, product managers and other software developers for developing solutions. You are expected to be hands on and up to date with the latest technology.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Software developer with 3 to 5 years in the industry involved in design and development of Software applications.
  • Responsible for coding, unit testing, integration testing and participating in the full SDLC.
  • Participate in discussions, constructively suggest, and receive ideas & feedback for solutions.
  • Collaborate with other team members, also work with cross-functional teams according to requirements. Peer review of code practice needs to be followed.
  • Evaluate, learn, and incorporate new technologies into new and existing frameworks and solutions as applicable.
  • Be agile and embrace change.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience with coding in Java or Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of database concepts and complex query writing.
  • Excellent knowledge in Query Optimization for better performance.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience of Java would be an added advantage.
  • Fluency to create stored procedures.
  • Good knowledge of JIRA, Jenkins, GIT and Artifactory. CI/CD exposure will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in both Windows and Non-windows OS is preferred.
  • Any exposure to Cloud Data platforms like Snowflake, Data Bricks is preferred and added advantage.
  • Exposure to Geo-spatial domain and how geospatial data is stored in database is preferred.
  • Exposure to cloud native technologies like Docker and Kubernetes are an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse and distributed product teams in an agile environment.
