About The Role

The role of Service Line Manager (SLM) is pivotal, to steering our business towards growth, operational efficiency, and team development. The SLM has three core purpose areas:

  • Lead the business development, sales, and revenue generation for the service line.
  • Ensure operational excellence within their service line, overseeing project performance and financial targets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless operations.
  • Champion the professional growth of the wider service line team, mapping out development plans and providing mentorship.

This role is full time (however we would consider part-time for the right candidate) and based in our Auckland or Christchurch offices.

  • A proven leader – you need to lead, manage, coach and support our Business Delivery Managers fostering a team culture of high performance, collaboration and peer support. You need to be a real ‘people’ person.
  • Technically understanding of the Service Line – you’ll be passionate about all things transportation engineering and your technical background will complement this.
  • A builder of strong relationships – it is incredibly important that you’re approachable and can foster positive relationships with those you work with, both clients, industry partners and colleagues.
  • Financial management aware – you are responsible for ensuring we meet our revenue targets and project deliverables.
  • Experienced in managing complex jobs – you will be leading project teams so excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are key.
  • Able to deliver results – you’ll need a successful track record in winning and delivering quality work and outcomes for clients.
  • A brilliant communicator – you’ll be chatting to people in-person, via email or video conferencing, and in meetings. Your charisma will inspire your team. You are prepared to challenge colleagues on technical ideas.
  • Qualifications – you will have an undergraduate or post graduate qualification in engineering e.g. BEng (Hons) or Science.
