Intro And Job Overview

The Precisely Sales Engineer collaborates with Account Executives to execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles. They support solution selling, model the financial aspects of sales opportunities, deliver powerful presentations and product demos, manage technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses, communicate client needs to R&D teams, and collect competitive intelligence. They contribute to new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction, and overall sales team success.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Develop deep expertise with Precisely products, services and solutions.
  • Create compelling presales demonstrations, presentations, documentation, and tools.
  • Deliver persuasive, credible, and professional presentations and product demonstrations; in-person (at customers, tradeshows, user events etc.) and virtually.
  • Support Sales Executives with solution selling into prospect account base within the APAC region.
  • Partner with Sales Executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
  • Work with identified Partners to enable and co-sell solutions when needed.
  • Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity via the Engage ROI Calculator.
  • Successfully match customer use cases, pain points and requirements to proposed Engage products & solutions.
  • Successfully deliver Proof-of-Concept and pilots.
  • Manage all aspects of an assigned RFP / RFI response process.
  • Engage with cross functional groups in Engineering, Services, Support, Marketing, Product Management and Partners as required.
  • Lead Scoping Workshops and Business Requirements Engagements to collect and document customer requirements.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • College/University Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, technical account management, customer success, or technical service delivery.
  • Proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions.
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting successfully to executive level stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to engage with global teams in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in a sales engineering role within a Managed Services, SaaS or software solutions company.
  • Experience with Precisely’s Engage suite of products.
  • Experience working with clients within key verticals; financial services industry, government, insurance, etc.
  • APAC experience, willingness to work with the SE Asia team with potential travel for meetings/workshops.
  • Experience delivering or managing Customer Communications Management solutions.
