Epsilon C5I (, focused on software development and systems engineering for intelligence and combat systems, is seeking a full-time Senior RMF Cyber Security Engineer I, with at least six (6+) years of experience to work out of San Diego, CA. Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and accomplish assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment.
  • Identify systems/networks deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
  • Conduct passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
  • Provide process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the required Government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and make recommendations on process tailoring.
  • Perform extensive analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each Government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
  • Periodically conduct of a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree cyber security, computer science, engineering, or information technology (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least six (6+) years of experience working a cyber security role in the DoD space.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on RMF and Information Assurance.
  • Proficient in conducting security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability scans.
  • Strong understanding of security controls, protocols, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, DoD RMF, FISMA).
  • Experience with security tools such as Nessus, ACAS, HBSS, and SIEM platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in cyber security planning, assessment, and analysis
  • Demonstrable experience in Security Architecture Design
  • Proven experience performing and reviewing technical security assessments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $135,000 to $155,000 annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
