Bolton & Menk has an opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our expanding team. In this newly created position, you will have the opportunity to create Safe, Creative and Sustainable communities through campus master planning, sites & spaces design, and recreational facilities on college, and university campuses across the southeast market. The position can be located in our Wilmington location, and you will have a great team of professionals around you.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role you will be responsible for managing complex design projects which meet budget and schedule to client satisfaction. Project types will include campus master plans, conceptual design, and contract documents for sites & spaces on colleges and universities, municipal and civic campuses, and the planning and design of regional sports and recreational facilities. The ideal candidate will come from a landscape architecture background with experience working on college campuses and open space master plans and designs including at the urban/recreation/natural resources interface. We are looking for a candidate who has successfully led project teams to produce written documents that guide architects and contractors, as well as effective graphic communication and design thinking. Community engagement is an integral component of the work as is the ability to engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture or other applicable discipline from an accredited college
  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in campus planning and design
  • Landscape Architect Licensure or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of campus planning principles and practices
  • Skills with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (Sketchup, Lumion)
  • Skills with Graphics software (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Basic understanding of GIS applications
  • Applied knowledge of methods and techniques of effective technical report preparation and presentations
  • Ability to work well within a team atmosphere
  • Must possess a valid drivers license. Travel will be required.
