Job Summary

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the accounting operations of the business. This includes preparing, analyzing, and processing financial statements, budgets, and monthly and quarterly reports for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results
  • Maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements and budgets
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Maintain and manage fixed assets
  • Update and review monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with external and internal audit.
  • Assess accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Assist with regulatory reporting
  • Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation, analyze financial data, and generate reports
  • Ability to manipulate, interpret and analyze data in Excel.
  • Ability to analyze variances to budgets/forecasts/accruals, explain to management, and create corrective action plan
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Effective decision making and problem solving
  • Able to multitask, prioritize task and projects, as well as manage time efficiently
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for the best solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors' Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting / Finance, preferred
  • CPA certification, required
  • Five (5) years' experience as a staff, or corporate accountant in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in accounting software; SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP required
  • Experience with public company filings, preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), a plus
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk in an office environment
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs

Travel Requirements

  • Travel Required: <10%


This position is for the day shift generally working 8:00am – 05:00pm
