Job Description

Do you want to develop world leading imaging solutions?

We are looking for a highly talented Researcher, who has great analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills, to join our team.

Reporting to the Research Manager, you will join a diverse team of people with backgrounds including cosmology, nuclear physics, as well as seismic exploration geophysics.

  • As a geophysical researcher you will develop, implement, test, and support new algorithms to improve imaging of the subsurface. This will include algorithm validation on synthetic and real datasets to stress test the proposed approach.
  • You will support the rollout of new technology through internal presentations and user support, as well as promote new technologies to clients through scientific publications and presentations. You will keep all stakeholders regularly informed on progress.
  • You will need to continuously stay up to date with technology, in order to develop and improve research activities for business units and clients.


Educated to a PhD degree level in any of the following disciplines:

Geophysics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related technical discipline.


  • Excellent coding skills are essential for this role, particularly C/C++ or FORTRAN
  • Knowledge of high-performance computation (MPI, multi-threading, GPU etc.)
  • Strong math skills, as you must be capable of abstracting geophysical concepts with mathematical languages
  • Knowledge of seismic processing/imaging is desirable but not essential
  • Experience in wave propagation, linear or non-linear inversion, or strong signal processing background is a plus
