SatSure is Series A+ startup which works at the intersection of space technology, remote sensing, and AI/Computer Vision, solving problems pertaining to financial inclusion of smallholder farmers, climate sustainability, and critical infrastructure asset monitoring. Role: We are looking for a Product Manager - AI/ML Data Products

We’re looking for a Product Manager for AI/ML data products built in SatSure, who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company, and become a part of building a legacy in marrying space technology and AI for the betterment of humanity. They will be responsible for the development of our data products. It is a diverse role that covers many areas of business management, product development planning, launch, and post-launch analysis, maintaining the data product strategy and roadmap, working with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, benchmarking the data products against the competition, and enabling the product, marketing, and sales teams to run an effective go-to-market strategy. You will work closely with the data science team to ensure that the data products meet the customer’s needs as set in the PRD. In your role, you shall be responsible for building and maintaining the data design documents and reviewing them with the data science team to ensure that our data products are built to the specifications.


The AI/ML Product Manager is responsible for the success of the product(s) they oversee in alignment with the broader stakeholder needs. The responsibilities of AI Product Managers include:

Defining the bigger picture

  • Conduct research on AI and industry-specific trends
  • Identify opportunities where advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can solve specific needs
  • Develop a compelling product vision and communicate that vision
  • Identify the right use cases for machine learning, including business cases.
  • Manage a product roadmap that clearly maps future releases to long-term product strategy
  • Deliver product increments using Agile best practices for data science
  • Define the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) and build effective feedback loops

Managing the product backlog

  • Manage a list of product ideas
  • Break down the backlog into bite-sized pieces of value
  • Ensure the backlog is transparent and understood
  • Prioritize backlog items

Steering product development

  • Identify the appropriate model and business outcome metrics to measure the product success; monitor and track model and product performance against these metrics
  • Work with data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and software developers to guide the development of the product
  • Define data and annotation strategies for all machine learning projects.
  • Weed out internal biases while testing new data to develop better product functionality.
  • Decide on the product feature tradeoffs based on the user experience data.
  • Monitor open bugs, missing data, output precision issues, and result incompleteness and inconsistency.

Driving market success

  • Assist the product team in the development, creation, and management of new products to ensure that they become successful products.
  • Help the product owner and development team in the product development process by doing relevant data analysis.
  • Work with marketing teams to launch the product
  • Own the product throughout the entire data science product life cycle. This extends beyond the project to make the product and includes ML Ops
  • Drive value from the product by evangelizing usage and (if needed) monetizing the product
  • Ensure the product and data usage complies with responsible AI best practices
  • Oversee various products, and product lines, and manage production
  • Evaluate what metrics need to be tracked to improve machine learning models.

Must Have

  • A bachelor’s in technology, along with a master’s degree in business or technology domain.
  • Deep understanding of geospatial data, especially satellite Earth observation (EO) data in either a tech or business role through past experiences.
  • Minimum 2 years in product management role, and minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of AI/ML, especially when applied to EO data
  • Ability to conduct or organize market research and do product life cycle management
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform product decisions
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and handle multiple projects simultaneously
