Innovation is about connecting the dots, envisioning possibilities, and creating pathways to new horizons. As a New Business Manager, you'll chart the course for pioneering technologies into uncharted markets for our Marine Asset Integrity (MAI) business line in the Europe & Africa region.

You are part of the New Business Team, which facilitates development of business with new technologies in new markets (e.g. Fugro Orca USV, Low Logistics AUV, Robodock etc.), business consulting for key internal and external stakeholders, as well as the adoption of new products/technology into our EUAF MAI business. In this role you liaise with various business lines within MAI and Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) by supporting, consulting, developing or leading priority opportunities. Because of its regional character this position can be based in multiple locations e.g. Netherlands, UK, Norway.

Your role

  • You develop new business by understanding (regional) business needs, facilitating the adoption of new technology and new solutions, identifying and pursuing opportunities in new markets, and bridging the gap between new ways of working and business as usual;
  • You act as an intermediary between the global and regional business maintaining frequent interaction with senior managers;
  • You are responsible for coordinating business development activities for focus areas defined by the business, which may quickly develop over time;
  • You implement a clear global strategy and plan, which includes a business development strategy and sales and/or market share targets regionally;
  • You develop and maintain strategic long-term trusting relationships with existing and new customers, better understanding their needs & strategic directions and becoming a trusted partner, in order to accomplish organic growth and long-term company objectives;
  • You drive innovations through our network of existing and new clients to generate interest for our new products and services by organizing workshops, pilot projects and other events to promote our priority solutions and engage key clients early in the development phase.

Your track record

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in a Business/Science related discipline and/or previous work experience in a similar role;
  • You are entrepreneurial, focused on achieving sustainable results with a passion for success, and strive for operational excellence in all goals set;
  • You have a strong business acumen, are client-serviced, and have a strong network to leverage support in adopting new business;
  • You are creative, pro-active, have a problem solving mindset, and can successfully drive change management within the organisation;
  • You have cross cultural awareness, the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels, and excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written);
  • You have the flexibility to travel on occasion to other Fugro office locations in Europe.
