KaleidEO, a subsidiary of SatSure, is investing to launch its own fleet of earth observation satellites. We are looking for a Lead Electronics Engineer to lead, develop, implement interfaces and manage stakeholders to build the electronics for innovative payloads and interface with satellite systems for seamless integration.

The synergy of KaleidEO and SatSure aims to bring a new dimension to the earth observation industry by being the only full-stack company from India having satellites in space to deliver insights on the ground.


As a lead electronics engineer at KaleidEO, you will provide technical expertise and lead a team on payload electronic systems to incorporate, define interfaces and design and realise systems for state-of-the-art payloads and processors.

It will require a close working relationship with existing data scientists, satellite/payload system engineers, and other external stakeholders to design, build, test and troubleshoot new complex systems to make them work in space.


  • Complete ownership of electronic subsystems to design and develop electronics for the next generation of earth observation payloads.
  • Definition, management and tracking of requirements of electronics for the payloads and satellite systems.
  • Analyzes and interprets electronics requirements at the satellite platform level and flows down requirements to lower-level specifications via requirement traceability.
  • Trade-off and define avionics system architecture to meet command and data handling requirements.
  • Support design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance.
  • Documentation of requirements, design, and present the work at design reviews.
  • Collaborate and interface with multiple teams within the company, partners and

vendors to ensure the right implementation and interoperability/reusability of systems.

  • Support subsystem development with a multidisciplinary team of flight software and FPGA developers and system engineers.
  • Oversee the end-to-end hardware design process, including schematic design, PCB layout, and validation testing.
  • Support and troubleshoot electronic subsystems during satellite operations.
  • Develop project plans, set milestones, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality electronics designs.

Basic Qualification And Skills

  • A bachelor in EE, ECE or CS with a minimum experience of 12 years or an advanced related degree with up to 10 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience (hardware/software) working with cross-functional teams for electronics of the entire product lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Experience with developing embedded systems – both on hardware and software levels.
  • Design proficiency with processors, FPGAs, switch mode power supplies, high-speed data interfaces, and precision analog instrumentation.
  • Expertise in working with tools such as Libero, Vivado and Altium.
  • Strong hardware design skills (PCBs, ECAD or MCAD) with power and memory optimisation experience.
  • Working knowledge of interface integration over LVDS, I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, etc.
  • Scripting Familiarity: Python, Bash, etc. and working level experience with development tools like git, bash, CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in software design with memory, processor, and real-time constraints.
  • Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.

Preferred Qualification And Skills

  • Experience with satellite bus architectures.
  • Experience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity.
  • Experience with complex board designs including HDI, high speed, high reliability, avionics solutions, and / or satellite control systems.
  • Experience with integration of systems into aerospace/avionics enclosures.
  • Experience in environmental testing of spaceflight hardware, including EMI/EMC, Vibration, Acoustics, Thermal, Vacuum, and other related testing.
  • Preferable previous experience with developing software/firmware developed for safety-critical applications for aerospace or space systems.
