As an IT Systems Analyst, you will be a key member of the IT team reporting directly to the IT Director and responsible for analyzing and improving the organization's IT systems and processes. Your role will involve assisting assessing business requirements, designing efficient IT solutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems to support the company's goals and core values.


Responsibilities:


Infrastructure Management:

  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, network equipment, and storage systems.
  • Assist in planning and executing infrastructure expansion and optimization projects as needed.


System Design, Documentation, and Reporting:

  • Assist in design and proposal of IT solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices utilizing lean concepts.
  • Create detailed system design documents, including diagrams, flowcharts, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure that system designs are scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
  • Assist in developing key IT operating metrics reporting on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant performance criteria.


System Administration - Implementation, Configuration, Deployment, and Maintenance:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and deployment of IT systems, software, and applications.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and engineers to ensure proper system setup and integration.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control for various systems and applications.
  • Ensure timely software updates, patches, and security enhancements.
  • Implement and utilize system monitoring tools to proactively identify performance issues and potential bottlenecks.
  • Recommend and implement optimizations to improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Manage and analyze data stored within IT systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Generate reports and insights to support decision-making processes.


Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and diagnose system issues, working to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related problems promptly.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain a knowledge base.


Security Management:

  • Assist in implementing and enforcing security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard the organization's data and systems.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Respond to security incidents and develop incident response plans.


Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure the delivery of contracted services and support.
  • Assist in evaluation and selecting new vendors or technologies as needed.


Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Assist in development and maintenance of backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct regular backup tests and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in recover efforts in the event of system failures or disasters.


Budget Management:

  • Assist in preparation of the IT budget.
  • Monitor expenses and manage IT expenditures within budgetary constraints.


Compliance and Regulations:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.


Project Management:

  • Assist in managing IT projects. Including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and align IT initiatives with organizational goals.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in IT system administration and management.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server administration, and cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), virtualization, and cloud services.
  • Experience with IT project management and budgeting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ITIL, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
