Our dynamic Customer and Marketing team is looking for people to support their mission - to reach the hearts, minds, and spirits of our customers to help them meet their goals.

Join us and you’ll have an opportunity to make an impact. To empower projects that deliver real-world benefits across Britain. To hear our customers say they couldn’t have done it without us. And to be central to OS’s vision: to be recognised as world leaders in geospatial services; creating location insight for positive impact.

About the Role

The Internal Communication Channel Lead is responsible for the development of Ordnance Survey’s internal communications channels – including intranet (SharePoint), social (Viva Engage) and events (in-person, virtual and hybrid) – to engage its 1400 employees working in multiple locations.

Partnering with stakeholders to provide insight and expertise within a culture of continuous improvement, the Internal Communication Channel Lead will embed best practice channel usage across OS.

The role will be central to the optimisation of the SharePoint platform, and progression of our digital channels to ensure that Internal Communications meets the future needs of OS.

This role will include:

  • Coordinate the delivery of content across internal communication channels that reflects OS business priorities and corporate calendar and represents all parts of OS
  • Ownership of the quarterly Internal Communications Analytics Dashboard and monthly Internal Communications Content Calendar
  • Create and curate engaging, high quality content for all OS internal communication channels – spanning digital, print, and social media
  • Build and manage SharePoint sites in line with industry best practice and user experience principles to drive employee engagement
  • Provide internal stakeholders with advice that meets their Internal Communications needs, and partner with them on bespoke campaigns/projects to embed best practice across OS

What we’re looking for

  • An experienced Internal Communications professional with technical proficiency in managing and developing internal communications channels including intranet, events and social collaboration tools
  • Experience of gathering and interpreting user analytics from digital channels, and presenting them in an accessible, visual format
  • Experience of providing SharePoint site owners with user training and support
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, delivering results under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and the ability to translate complex concepts into meaningful language.

The Rewards

We want you to love what you do. That’s why our benefits package rewards a job well done. Check out how we support and invest in our employees by clicking here . We’ll give you:

  • 37 hour working week (with flexible working options)
  • 25 days annual leave - (rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 30) bank holidays and an extra 3 over Christmas
  • Plus, a suite of excellent additional benefits

Location

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend 2 days a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.

Closing date Sunday 3rd March 2024

We think combining different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives will help us reach our vision and be trusted and admired across the globe for setting the standards and leading the way.
