About GEO Morphix Ltd :

At GEO Morphix, we are a team of professional geoscientists and environmental experts focused on geomorphology, earth surface processes, and watershed science. Our team specializes in river and shoreline restoration, erosion hazard delineation and mitigation, environmental monitoring and hydrometrics, and projects that require an in-depth understanding of erosion, sedimentation, and sediment transport. Our team of industry leaders provide observation-rich answers based on a balanced application of quality science and years of experience to achieve practical, implementable, and innovative solutions for all stakeholders. A successful project is one that meets or exceeds our client’s objectives.

We are seeking an Intermediate River Scientist/Geomorphologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate would have a deep understanding of fluvial geomorphological processes. They would be responsible for studying the processes and patterns of rivers and streams, assessing erosion sensitivity and potential impacts of a variety of project types, and providing expert advice and solutions for managing river systems. This role requires a strong understanding of fluvial systems, proficiency in data analysis and modeling, and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to varying audiences.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct field investigations of river systems and shorelines, including the application of standard rapid and detailed geomorphological assessment techniques, sediment composition and transport analyses, and characterization of channel morphology and floodplain dynamics
  • Analyze and interpret field data collected from surveys, remote sensing imagery, and other sources, to understand the behavior and changes in river systems over time and associated implications for a variety of project types
  • Use specialized software for developing models to analyze and simulate fluvial processes, including hydraulic modeling, sediment transport modeling, and erosion modeling
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate fluvial geomorphology principles into river management and restoration projects, considering ecological, hydrological, and engineering requirements
  • Prepare technical reporting and presentations based on project deliverables, and provide technical input to proposals for public and private sector clients
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on river-related issues to clients, stakeholders, and government agencies
  • Participate in environmental impact assessments and contribute to the development of sustainable river management strategies
