Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious, results-driven and collaborative Human Resources Manager for our Marine and Land business Germany. Reporting directly to the Country Manager Germany, you will be part of the local management team. With a functional reporting line to the Regional HR Business Partner Land, you will support our Land business in the execution of our people priorities. Based in our Berlin office, you will have a team supporting you in the execution of HR Services for all our Marine and Land business.

Your Role

In this role you will support organisational effectiveness, talent management and change management initiatives to employees and managers on key people matters. You will contribute at both the hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an inclusive and high performing culture as the organisation grows. Having a strong business orientation, being influential, thinking out of the box, having a global mindset and being a strong team player are key for success factors for this role; You maintain and implement systems and policies and oversee HR practices, processes and strategies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Leading the HR Services and payroll team
  • Recruiting, hiring and onboarding employees as well as ensuring workplace health and safety
  • Managing staff benefits, payroll and relations with the works council.
  • You support and manage People & Capability initiatives and projects including workforce planning, talent rotation, employee engagement and learning and development
  • You support the implementation of strategies to ensure People & Capability initiatives and programs
  • Reinforce the company’s culture and values and identify who are differentiators in the market.
  • You roll out local programs and initiatives to retain current employees and attract candidates with critical skills in the highly competitive market and promote Fugro as a ‘best place to work’. This includes executing employee communication and engagement initiatives through a variety of forums
  • You conduct regular analysis of People & Capability metrics – growth, engagement, attrition, etc. – and share recommendations based on visible trends
  • You regularly travel to your locations and sites across Germany and support the local managers in all HR Business Partner related matters.
  • You manage employee relation issues by providing guidance to employees and managers on problem resolution, aligned with legal and organisational policies and regulations
  • You attend strategic planning meetings and department leadership meetings to align our people agenda with operational execution.
  • You partner with the Regional HR team on projects and programs.

Your track record

  • You have a Bachelor's degree with a preference in Human Resources
  • Management and 10+ years of experience working within/across an international context
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix organization is preferred
  • Also comprehensive experience implementing HR initiatives and managing the provision of services related to performance management, employee engagement, employee relations and change management
  • Proven relationship development skills with business leaders, as a trusted advisor
  • You have the analytical ability to collect and synthesise large quantities of data, tell the story, and formulate recommendations based on data trends and insights
  • You are fluent in German and English You bring demonstrated success as a People Business Partner in a heavily matrixed, global organization
  • Experience of supporting teams in technology or engineering preferred.
