Summary: Reporting to and under the general supervision of the HR Director, the HR Generalist II performs broad human resources tasks to support policies and programs including employee relations, new employee orientation, performance appraisal, benefits administration, affirmative action, reporting and administration related to HRIS and payroll, workers compensation, and unemployment claims.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • HR Generalist may perform several or all of the following duties and responsibilities as assigned:
  • Interacts with associates at all levels of the organization to interpret and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, benefits and general information.
  • Assists employees with benefits questions and enrollment and provides onsite support for employees to enroll in benefits.
  • Provides recruiting support to hiring managers and candidates.
  • Creates offer letters and sends to candidate along with new hire package.
  • Performs new employee orientation for on-site and remote new hires.
  • Provides advice to supervisors on counseling employee’s performance issues.
  • Prepares exit paperwork and meets with employee to review paperwork for voluntary and involuntary terminations.
  • Conducts research, analyzes data and prepares recommendations on assigned projects.
  • Plans employee recognition events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 5 years’ work-related experience including experience in Human Resources.
  • Administrative experience with processing and data entry into HRIS and payroll systems required.
  • Familiarity with Federal, state and other applicable laws related to employment issues.
  • Must be experienced and comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize duties.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including assertive communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to use independent discretion and judgment on more routine issues while seeking guidance and approval on more complex issues.
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency to achieve required human resource metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Paylocity Web Pay and Bswift benefits administration systems.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SHRM-CP) certification.
  • Prior experience in aerospace/defense industry.

  • Capable of using a keyboard effectively.
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
  • Office environment. Must be able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
