IQGeo is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support our Web and Mobile Software engineering efforts for domestic and international enterprise customers. This role joins a dynamic team that enjoys working with complex applications and products that utilise software, GIS, engineering, and problem-solving skills. Our Engineering team, with teams located in Cambridge, UK, Denver, USA, Salt Lake City, USA, and Ghent, Belgium is responsible for designing and developing our Geospatial products. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a part of the Cambridge Engineering team, developing the next generation of innovative geospatial products that support mission-critical operations for our global customer base. The Cambridge Engineering team has both developers and testers in the Cambridge area and remote in the US. The person in this role is expected to be capable of working independently, and as a team member, and should have experience working with complex software business and enterprise applications.


As an integral part of the Geospatial engineering team, the successful candidate will be developing new product releases to meet the growing list of requirements for the platform product and new industry vertical applications. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Design, development, unit-testing, maintenance, and enhancement of software products adhering to the product architecture
  • Implementation of automated testing
  • Configuration management and management of builds
  • Technical documentation of software design

Person Specification


Successful candidates will be enthusiastic individuals with a strong technical background in general enterprise software engineering skills related to the following:

  • Experience building efficient client-side applications in JavaScript and React
  • Experience building efficient server-side applications in Python, Java, C#, etc.
  • Experience integrating front-end and back-end components
  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS technology (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQLite)
  • Experience creating and running automated tests
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to present technical concepts to Architects and Developers
  • Minimum 5 years of comparable technology and industry experience
  • UK citizenship or permanent residency required


  • Experience with UI/UX design
  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or web mapping
  • Experience developing in containerised environment (ex. Docker)
  • Knowledge of Node.js design and development
  • Enterprise Integration especially web services
  • Mobile application development (iOS, Android, Windows)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Git or other distributed version control systems
  • Experience with Linux system architecture/administration and supporting network architecture

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or related experience
