About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Financial Controller to join our progressive team at Esri Australia. In this pivotal role, you will provide financial leadership and commercial acumen through business partnering relationships that empower informed decision-making and foster sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial and accounting operations , ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to Australian financial regulations.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting function , providing data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making and optimise business performance.
  • Navigate the regulatory landscape : Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while developing effective tax planning strategies.
  • Forge strong relationships with banks and auditors, facilitating seamless audits and accurate reporting.
  • Mentor and lead the finance team , fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment that cultivates excellence.
  • Optimise internal finance processes , aligning them with industry best practices and regulations for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Spearhead the governance and optimisation of ERP systems , leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of financial regulations to ensure continuous compliance and alignment with IFRS 15.

About You

We're looking for a talented Financial Controller to become a business partner in our Australian operations, playing a pivotal role in confidently guiding senior leadership with data-driven insights.

You will possess an analytical mindset to look beyond the numbers, together with highly developed leadership and collaboration skills to effectively foster a culture of excellence. You have a genuine desire to work with all teams across the business to influence and implement business strategy to drive business success - and positively impact the financial future of Esri Australia.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a finance team in a similar environment.
  • Certified accountant (CA or CPA) with a bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of implementing and embedding effective policies and procedures .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , with a natural curiosity to identify cost drivers and provide valuable financial insights.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP systems and their application for improved efficiency and governance.
  • Current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Alignment with Esri Australia's core values and a commitment to a collaborative work environment.
