Working in the Finance Team

The Finance Team is responsible for putting in place appropriate systems and processes to keep the business financially sustainable and legally compliant.

Right now, the finance team is focussed on delivering continuous improvement to drive business value as we gear for growth.

The finance team have derived objectives in respect of funding, people, systems, technology, outputs and engagement.

What will you be doing?

This is an exciting time to join Open Cosmos as we gear for substantial growth through 2024 and beyond. The Finance Manager reports to the VP, Finance to support and facilitate the finance team operations locally in Greece on behalf of the Open Cosmos Group.

You will have ownership of finance operations within Greece and will work to support the group finance function through the maintenance and control of efficient, accurate and compliant records, in a paperless setting.

You’ll effectively business partner with the wider finance team and key stakeholders to deliver timely financial insights and ensure adherence to reporting obligations.

You’ll also have the opportunity to engage and contribute as we evaluate and innovate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance and operating systems.

This is very much a hands-on operational role, working within a lean, value adding finance team.

What you need to be successful

The role requires accuracy, timely delivery and communication and lots of enthusiasm!

  • You’ll have a successful track record operating as finance manager level+ within a small team to deliver shared objectives
  • You’ll be AAT or similar qualified (plus) or with a demonstrably similar level of technical knowledge
  • As we operate in a paperless setting and on a remote first basis, you will employ your strong IT skills and be keen to innovate and automate within the value adding finance team
  • You will be a multi-tasker, able to organise your workflows and communicate within the team to prioritise, deliver and effectively business partner
  • You will have a strong knowledge of IFRS including revenue recognition, long term contracts and capitalisations
  • You will have a practical understanding of grant, IVA/VAT, corporation tax and payroll compliance and administration locally in Greece
  • You will have a proven capability working within:
    • an innovative start up, gearing for growth
    • a paperless setting
    • an international group dealing with multiple currencies and local
    • taxation/compliance
