What the job involves

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and mechanically-oriented Field Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our camera systems in the San Francisco Bay Area, playing a crucial part in translating your observations into actionable feedback for the engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain both software and mechanical engineering skills working with computer-vision cameras operating on vehicles.


  • Conduct field tests and collect data using specialized camera and lighting equipment.
  • Perform field service for camera systems, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues (e.g., focusing lenses, adjusting mounts) in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Maintain and analyze collected data, ensuring effective organization and searchability to maximize its value.
  • Analyze field data, including video footage, annotating objects of interest (e.g., vehicles, license plates, signs)
  • Analyze and interpret test results to assess their significance and communicate findings effectively to the engineering team.
  • Partner with the engineering team to translate real-world observations from field testing into actionable insights and recommendations that drive product quality and performance improvements for our customers.


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role (or equivalent internship experience).
  • Strong understanding of data analysis principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, knowledge of SQL and Pandas libraries.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
