At GalaxEye, we are working to build the best remote-sensing technologies and researching various aspects of remote sensing.

Role Description

This role is a part of the Embedded Systems Team, where you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of electrical and electronics systems for satellite missions including Electrical Power Systems, Data Acquisition Boards, On-Board Computers etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans and procedures for electrical systems testing, including functional tests, performance tests, and environmental tests.
  • Conduct tests on electrical systems, including hardware-in-the-loop testing, environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMC), and electrical performance testing.
  • Analyze test data and results to assess the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical systems and components.
  • Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and other project meetings to provide technical input and support.
  • Document test plans, procedures, results, and analysis in compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Support the development of engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Participate in the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of satellite systems, including hardware-in-the-loop testing, functional testing, and environmental testing.
  • Provide technical support to other engineering teams, including system engineering, software engineering, and mission operations, to ensure successful integration and operation of satellite systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, develop system architectures, and select appropriate hardware components.
  • Design, develop, and integrate electrical and electronics systems for satellite missions, including power systems, avionics, communication systems, and payload electronics.
  • Conduct detailed design analyses, simulations, and trade-off studies to optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Specify and procure electronic components, subsystems, and assemblies from suppliers and vendors, ensuring compliance with mission requirements and quality standards.
  • Preparing and Maintaining Interface Control Diagrams and Timing Diagrams
  • Overlooking the firmware development and updating the architecture from time to time
  • Document system designs, requirements, architectures, test results, and operational procedures in compliance with project documentation standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and electronics engineering principles, including circuit design, analog and digital electronics, power systems, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • Experience in electrical systems design, testing, and validation, preferably in aerospace or similar high-reliability industries.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment and instrumentation, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and standards, including MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, and NASA standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools for design and analysis, such as MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, and LabVIEW.
  • Knowledge of satellite communication systems, avionics, and payload electronics, including RF communication, data handling, and sensor interfaces.
  • Familiarity with space environment effects and standards, such as radiation tolerance, thermal management, and outgassing requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for testing activities and project-related meetings.
