Ommatidia LiDAR is a Madrid-based tech company that specializes in the development of a new architecture for 3D Optical Metrology and Ranging. Our biomimetic sensor is able to combine broad-beamed continuous illumination with sensitivity to individual photons, unlocking new levels of performance in terms of the combination of range and resolution.

Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role of DevOps and IT Manager at Ommatidia LIDAR. The DevOps & IT manager will lead and manage Ommatidia’s cloud services and on-premise infrastructure, information systems, and collaborative development tools. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability and optimal performance of the company’s IT infrastructure and will support the operational teams by incorporating automation and machine learning functions to improve productivity. He/she will be focusing on managing and supporting our scientific and EDA tool installations for multiple remote users and will coordinate installation and updates of PDKs.

Key Tasks

  • Develop, manage, and optimize the company's collaboration cloud infrastructure and information systems.
  • Lead integration activities across processes and systems.
  • Support and enhance software development processes, implementing best practices for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Manage and maintain the EDA tool installation on UNIX, ensuring high availability and performance for remote users.
  • Install and maintain simulation and CAD software packages as needed.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively addressing and resolving any issues to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their IT and infrastructure needs, and provide efficient solutions.
  • Ensure security and compliance of the IT infrastructure, implementing necessary policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps, IT management, and LiDAR technology, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.


  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or IT Manager roles
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced level of English (C1 or higher)
  • Strong background in Linux systems administration and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in managing and supporting Cadence Design tools or similar electronic design automation (EDA) software.
  • Expertise in cloud-based software development environment such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in configuring and deploying IIS, Apache, NGINX, Tomcat or similar application servers.
  • Strong knowledge of Jira, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible and other automation tools and best practices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and test automation
  • Experience designing and implementing high availability solutions and disaster recovery plans
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and information security best practices
  • Ability to work in a team environment, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, good communication and documentation skills.
