Who We Are

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru amp; Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGMamp;T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Accomplish and support activities involving the propulsion system design and development of UAVs in the conceptual and detailed design phase.
  • Evaluate the sizing calculation of propellers for given operational requirements and aerodynamic characteristics using computational methods. Design and development of propulsion systems and optimization at component level.
  • Suggest the design changes in order to meet the given propulsion requirement to the team based on the generated results.
  • Lead the team and capable to solve the problem independently and also have hands- on experience in handling the propulsion system. Characterize the propulsion system using the conventional experimental techniques like Static test, Wind tunnel test and Dynamometer test. Maintain the vendor database and establish the contact.
  • Handling the mechanical design and interface of components which meets the requirement.
  • Define the propulsion system requirements and plan the tasks to meet the requirements.
  • Establish the verification and validation process to ensure the requirements are compliant.

Must Have Skills

  • Aerodynamics
  • Propulsion (Electric BLDC / IC Engine)
  • CAD : Solidworks, CATIA
  • Scripting language : Python/Matlab
  • Low fidelity tools : QMIL/QPROP, XROTOR,

Desired Skills

  • Good functional hands-on knowledge in internal and external flow physics to predict aerodynamics characteristics of rotary components.
  • Deep understanding of Propeller fundamentals like Blade element theory, vortex theory.
  • Good understanding of Electric BLDC motor and related performance aspects.
  • Good knowledge and prior work experience on handling the Multidisciplinary Optimization tools would be an added advantage.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience of 5 years and above.
