Are you an experienced Business Development Manager, ideally with GIS / Local Government experience? We are a market leading software company and are seeking an experienced, consultative salesperson to join our successful team and grow our business with Local Government. Make a great career move and apply today!

UK Home-Based Southern England - with travel to customers and meetings (including some overnights)

Salary from £35k + rising with experience plus a generous bonus paying up to 20% per annum. Full and part time applications welcomed.

The Business Development Manager / Customer Success Manager role will give you the opportunity to make a real difference, developing and growing our business in a key sector for Esri UK. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Win new customers.
  • Ensure our customers success, become their trusted GIS advisor, identify decision makers, demonstrate our product capabilities, functionalities, and benefits.
  • Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close sales, ensuring the proposals meet the required margins and cost of sale.
  • Broaden the adoption of our technology - develop a Customer Success Plan, working with the customer to identify and recommend ways to maximize their ROI for using GIS within their organisation.
  • Be part of our team – working with colleagues both within sales and other departments to help achieve targets.

This would be a great career move if you

  • Are looking for an opportunity to really use your business development skills and expertise.
  • Would relish the opportunity to make a significant difference to our business success
  • Have some previous sales/business development expertise (ideally including negotiating with and supplying local government).
  • Are consultative in your approach, really putting your customer first and listening to their needs, whilst still being commercially minded, drawing up compelling sales proposals
  • Can build strong, enduing relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Are a team player, who understands how a team approach and sharing knowledge makes us all more successful
  • Essential - Some understanding of the concept of GIS technology is essential and knowledge of Esri GIS products desirable, to enable you to propose suitable GIS based solutions would be useful, as would partner or channel sales experience with key suppliers to Local government.

Security: Because of the types of data and clients we work with, all our positions require successful candidates to undergo a basic security clearance.

Location - Whilst you would be home-based, you will still need to attend some meetings and make some customers visits in person, we are happy for you to work from home, one of our offices or a mixture of both.

We will reward you with

  • A good basic salary starting from at least from £35k+ rising with experience plus a generous bonus paying up to 20% per annum
  • Car allowance
  • A great benefits package, including a good company pension, Vitality healthcare scheme, gym contribution, cycle to work scheme. We believe as a company that we should give back wherever we can and therefore also offer volunteering opportunities for charities that are important to you.
  • Flexible working – we all work flexibly. We are also happy to consider full and part time applications
