About us

Vyoma is on a mission to solve one of the big issues humanity faces today: the problem of space debris threatening active satellites in orbit. We are building a fleet of space cameras to monitor such space debris. Together with our software suite, we build an accurate catalogue of space objects, automate satellite operations for our customers, and ultimately keep our orbits clean and safe. We are a young and international team of aerospace engineers and software developers, backed by some of the top investors and venture capitalists in Germany.

Our offices are located very centrally in Munich (Bonner Platz). Amongst others, you can expect a great (very international) team atmosphere, highly qualified colleagues, flexible working hours, remote/hybrid work, and a very exciting company vision.

Your mission

  • to develop algorithms and software for, amongst others,
  • orbit and attitude determination
  • space-based optical measurement association
  • satellite manoeuvre detection and estimation
  • detection and processing of close approaches between satellites and debris objects
  • collision-avoidance manoeuvre optimisation
  • to take responsibility for fast and robust system and algorithm design to enable large-scale data processing
  • to maintain an up-to-date overview of latest breakthrough developments in the astrodynamics domain and assess their suitability for existing and future services
  • to participate in cutting-edge projections in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission

Your profile

  • Important: Please only apply if you have a valid working permit in Germany (or the EU)
  • Your education: MSc (preferably PhD) in Astrodynamics, Satellite Navigation, Satellite Geodesy or similar
  • Your experience: 3+ years of experience in the SST, SSA and STM industry
  • Strong background in orbital mechanics, sensor modeling, statistics, uncertainty quantification, data fusion, optimization, algorithms
  • Profound object-oriented programming skills in Java and Python and experience with open-source astrodynamics libraries
  • Track record in developing industry-grade code following, amongst others, architecture and design patterns, versioning, documentation, testing
