Are you looking for a better environment for your career?

EDR is seeking an experienced, team-oriented Archaeology Project Manager with demonstrated expertise in Cultural Resources Management. This role will be focused on serving as the Project Manager for cultural resources surveys and assessments for transportation, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. This role would be a full-time position in the Northeastern United States, based out of an EDR office in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or New Hampshire. Remote work options can also be considered for qualified candidates.

This is a senior technical role requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar or related professional setting. EDR prefers candidates for this role who meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications in Archaeology (36 CFR Part 61). However, demonstrated experience and success in Project Management in a similar work setting is more important for this role than completion of a graduate (MA/PhD) degree. Essential skills include:

  • Demonstrated experience managing archaeology and/or environmental permitting projects.
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling, coordinating, and directing archaeological field personnel for archaeological survey (i.e., Phase I) and excavations (i.e., Phase II/III investigations).
  • Demonstrated experience managing client and agency communications for archaeological projects, including SHPO, THPO, and similar stakeholders/consulting parties.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and navigating project reviews under state licensing, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and/or the National Environmental Policy Act.
  • Strong research, organizational, data analysis, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and review cultural resources reports, including Phase I, II, and III archaeological reports, and similar types of studies.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, project budgets, invoicing, change orders, and project management.
  • A BA or graduate degree in Anthropology, History, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of GIS and GPS technology, mapping, analysis, and data processing.
  • Ability to travel (locally and out of state when required).

The anticipated base pay range of $65,000-$85,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s credentials, skill level, relevant experience, and education, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
