What does an application engineer do?

Application engineers show an excellent understanding of software modules they are responsible for. They configure and extend modules to fulfill customer needs. They also provide application support for both internal team as well as end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and extend GIS software for utilities and telecoms,
  • Understand customer needs to define system specifications,
  • Assist customers with solving technical issues when they arise,
  • Support software modules during whole project life cycle.

Key Attributes / Skills

  • General IT skills (Windows, MS Office),
  • Experience with GIS systems (user is just enough, administrator is a plus),
  • Basic SQL skills; experience with Oracle and PL*SQL is a plus,
  • An elementary programming experience (.NET, JavaScript),
  • Understanding of utilities and telecoms domain is a plus,
  • Speaking, writing, listening and reading Czech or Slovak skills,
  • Elementary speaking, writing, listening and reading English skills,
  • Problem-solving attitude,
  • Communication skills.
