Job Overview

Join our innovative Product Foundation team as our new Algorithm Engineer! We are looking for a dynamic professional with a deep interest in mathematics and optimization algorithms. As an Algorithm Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our flagship optimization algorithms, creating new solutions, and enhancing our algorithmic framework. A solid understanding of Research Operations algorithms, modern cloud solutions, virtualization, security protocols, compliance standards, and development tools are a must for this position.

Your efforts will be pivotal in crafting scalable, efficient software solutions by using the latest technologies and methodologies.

Direct Report: Chief Architect

Key Responsibilities

  • Master and refine Research Operations algorithms to ensure optimal efficiency, robustness, and scalability.
  • Participate in the design and integration of software components and advanced back-end frameworks.
  • Enhance project outcomes by leveraging knowledge of cloud computing, including containerization and deployment strategies.
  • Serve as a point of reference for other teams by recommending best practices and efficient strategies to adopt and providing expertise in optimization algorithms.
  • Lead initiatives for software framework modernization, advocating for innovative technologies that support software evolution.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Research Operations algorithms.
  • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with scalable and modular architecture solutions (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, AWS).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Fluent English with strong communication skills (B2).
  • A growth mindset, eager to thrive in a vibrant environment and meet daily challenges head-on.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Backend Software Development or familiarity with the Java technology stack.
  • Understanding of XML/XSD/XSL/JSON, MAVEN.
  • Experience developing REST/SOAP services and web technologies.
  • Familiarity with Event-Driven Development (EDD), message broker platforms (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka), and version control tools, such as Git.
