Interactive Map Of Brooklyn’s Past and Present
Thomas Rhiel – Brooklyn lover and the founding editor of BKLYNR created this amazing map of Brooklyn’s real-estate which links the history with present. He plotted 320,000 buildings and shaded each of them according to its year of construction. The result is a snapshot of Brooklyn’s evolution. It reveals how certain neighbourhoods developed over the years while leaving some of them unchanged for decades. While browsing the map I’ve noticed a lot of buildings which are 100 or more years old. I’m wondering what is the average age of buildings in Brooklyn compared to other districts in NY…
