Geoawesomeness is a blog about geospatial technologies and everything awesome around it. We are passionate about gis, maps, location-based apps, geomarketing, drones and remote sensing. With a team of people from all around the world, with different backgrounds, cultures and interests we aim to be not only the best geo-news platform but also to provide constructive commentary about all awesome stuff that are happening in the geo-industry.

As a son of a professor of cartography I was surrounded by maps all my life and they are a part of who I am. We luckily live in times when the revolution in location-technologies is happening everyday. I’ve founded the blog in 2011 as platform for myself to follow all the awesome stuff around geospatial technologies. Surprisingly people like you started to read it, and this is how we got right here, right now:).
I am one of those passionate “GeoGeeks” and “GeoPeople” who are just too excited about everything Geo. Just like the internet defied all boundaries and attempts to pre-define it, Geospatial technology will also transcend boundaries. The “G” is now truly ubiquitous. It is implicit as much as it is important. Enabling people and organizations to be connected and make informed decisions like never before. A “Geoawesome” world it will be!
I am just a GeoGeek deeply engulfed in everything Geo. A Geospatial Technology consultant that gets pretty awesome when it concerns geospatial techs. A great ambassador of Spatial Thinking in Africa. “Our species needs, and deserves, a citizenry with minds wide awake and a basic understanding of how the world works.” – Carl Sagan
I believe, Geospatial Technologies are not only about integrating hardware and software to understand our world but also about Geopeople. Geopeople are now becoming a share of this smart system as they are devising themselves as a tool, for information processing and dissemination. So, here I am a Geo-individual to nous Geoawesomeness. In this new era of humankind I am to sense the same world with geospatial tastes.
I ever since was passionate about topography and started my professional life on a local scale by doing landscape design. With the European Master in Geospatial Technologies I continue on a larger scale and find myself highly comfortable with this complete outsight on what surrounds us here and there. My special attention goes to the topic of remote sensing, which enables to find answers to a series of problems of environment and planning. For me, the geo-world holds a high potential to learn and create life. An awesome ‘g’!
I am just another one in seven billion people on this planet, with a small significant difference though. I always ask myself “why not”! That question added with a little curiosity has led me to travel and explore lot of possibilities so far. With a Bachelor’s in Geoinformatics and a Masters in Geomatics, I have made my life more towards knowing lot more about our gē!
I am one of the enthusiastic “GEO” possessed geeks who believes in “WHERE” and “CHANGE” are pivotal driving factors in Geospatial Industry. Also believe in Geospatial Tripod, whose three legs are GIS, Remote Sensing and GPS; will facilitate people and business organizations across various industries to “DISCOVER” more information about our mother earth and thereby outstanding decision-making. With masters in Remote Sensing, was part of vibrant GIS projects being a GIS developer and passionate to help Geoawesomeness to spread “GEO” word further.
What defines me is a mix of curiosity combined with a bit of of fun. I believe that the spatial data and the technologies associated with them are what I’m looking for. Fortunately for us, we live in times where the exchange of digital information blossoming before our eyes. That is why, I am here with you, sharing my fascination with all that is “geo”, because I know that the interaction with others is what shapes me every day.
